Anyone who has ever experienced a difficult time in their lives (which is pretty much everyone) will relate to this poem.
For the last year (yeah, I know), I’ve felt like I’m just stuck in my career. I’ve sought out new opportunities with promise only to see them fall through. I’ve been the cheerleader for my own rogue business goals only to lose sight of my vision and watch them fizzle out.
It’s not always easy to remain hopeful and optimistic. Perseverance can be downright exhausting.
Sometimes, I let myself think about the “Muddiness of Mud” rather than continuing to figure out new ways of how I can get unstuck.
Whether you’re battling depression, anxiety, loss, disappointment, or overwhelm, just know you’re not alone. We’ve all been there. And when the time is right – more importantly, when you’re ready – you’ll find a way to climb out of the mud.
Until then, just do your best.
P.S. Asking for help when you’re stuck is not a sign of weakness. Having the humility and vulnerability to say, “I need help. Can you help me?” is one of the bravest things you can do when you’re down and out. We’re all in this together!
